The School Badge
The Holy Family School Badge is actually the Mercy Shield which has been a symbol of mercy since the thirteenth century.
The red bars symbolise courage; the white cross symbolises purity.
The Mercy Shield was adopted by the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy founded by Mother Catherine McAuley in 1831.
